On unused bells.

This week I’m hanging out in Leeds, for staff summer school and then team days.

The house where we are staying is, probably, one of the most beautiful houses around.

Also, unusually they have an old fashioned servant’s bell box up on the wall in the kitchen.
And in the dining room, next to the fire, there is a button to ring.

I’m pretty sure there aren’t any servants to come running if I ring it, but I’ll probably not try and find out.

In summary: remnants of the past.

I’m not sure ringing it at quarter past eleven at night would have made me very popular!
